Big Bird 5k Terms

These terms apply to registrations for the Big Bird 5K 2026, taking place at East Park, Wolverhampton on Sunday 22 November 2026.

By completing a registration, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms on behalf of yourself and any participants included in your booking.

1. Registration

Entry to the Big Bird 5K is confirmed once the registration process and payment have been completed successfully.

The person completing the registration is responsible for ensuring that the information provided is accurate and that any other participants included in the booking are aware of the relevant event information and these terms.

2. Participants under 18

Participants under the age of 18 must take part with the consent of their parent or legal guardian.

Participants under 16 must be accompanied throughout the event by a responsible adult aged 18 or over.

Participants aged 16 or 17 may take part without an adult accompanying them around the course, provided their parent or legal guardian has consented to their participation.

The parent, guardian or responsible adult is responsible for deciding whether the young person is able to take part safely.

3. Health and participation

Participants are responsible for deciding whether they are sufficiently fit and well to take part in the event.

Anyone who has concerns about their health or their ability to participate should seek appropriate medical advice before taking part.

Participants must not take part if they are unwell or if doing so could place themselves or others at unnecessary risk.

4. Event instructions and safety

Participants must follow reasonable instructions given by event organisers, volunteers and officials.

The organisers may make changes to the route, timings or other event arrangements where reasonably necessary for safety, weather, operational or other circumstances outside their control.

Participants should behave responsibly and show consideration for other participants, volunteers and members of the public.

5. Entry fees, cancellations and transfers

Registration fees are normally non-refundable where a participant chooses not to take part after registering.

If you are unable to take part and would like to transfer your place to another person, please contact The Hibbs Lupus Trust before the event.

Transfers must not be made informally without notifying the organisers, as participant and emergency-contact information may need to be updated.

If the event is cancelled or materially changed by the organisers, registered participants will be contacted with information about the options available.

Nothing in these terms affects any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

6. Event changes or cancellation

The organisers reserve the right to alter the event route, timings, format or other arrangements where reasonably necessary.

In exceptional circumstances, including severe weather, safety concerns or circumstances outside the organisers' reasonable control, the event may need to be postponed or cancelled.

Where this happens, registered participants will be contacted as soon as reasonably possible.

7. Personal belongings

Participants are responsible for their own belongings while attending the event.

The organisers cannot take responsibility for loss of or damage to personal belongings except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
