Rhys Parker died in September 2013 at just 36 years old.
Those who knew Rhys remember his friendship, courage and his willingness to support others, even while dealing with his own illness.
The Rhys Parker Memorial Award was created with the support of Rhys’s family and friends to recognise those same qualities in people making a difference to the lupus community.
About the award
The award recognises an individual or team whose contribution has had a meaningful impact on people affected by lupus.
It is open to both professionals and volunteers and celebrates people who have shown exceptional commitment through their support, advocacy, care, awareness-raising or work to improve the lives of people living with lupus.
Above all, the award is about recognising someone who reflects the qualities for which Rhys is remembered: friendship, courage and a genuine desire to help others.
Who can be nominated?
You can nominate:
- an individual or a team
- a professional or volunteer
- someone who supports, advocates for or works on behalf of people affected by lupus
- someone whose contribution deserves wider recognition
